12 months, 4 bags... time to start chucking out the unessecary items that had sneaked into the ever growing kit pile at the side of my bed. The picture above is almost everything i will be taking with me for the foreseeable future, minus some real clothes so as not to scare all the locals away due to my lycra. The photo is also missing my rucksack that i will use when we go trekking, this will sit on top of my back panniers in a dry bag.
Looking at this measly pile of belongings has got me slightly panicky that i am missing something glaringly obvious, especially as i sit in my room surrounded by stuff. Is this really all i need to survive for up to 12 months in varying climates??? I guess there is only one way to find out...

Jess has returned from Vietnam and got her bike in order, a few feminine tweaks to make the bike more pleasing on the eye and she is ready to roll. Jess has gone with the tried and tested Long Haul Trukker; a bike that always comes up when asking about touring bikes so she thought it a safe bet for what we have planned in South America! Couple the new bike with our delivery from the awesome guys at Pannier CC and we are pretty much set to go ,all that is left now is to get what seems like a stupid amount of kit in to what looks like a very small box. That and the small problem of insurance...
